Stuart, Florida sits on the banks of the Saint Lucie River boasting a remarkable amount of shoreline for its size. The ocean is about 5 miles east of town, offering visitors a host of recreational options including deep-sea fishing, swimming and kayaking. Golf, tennis and hiking round out the activities this beautiful area has to offer.
In Stuart’s historic downtown area you will find an assortment of shops and restaurants, all accessible from Stuart's own public dock on the St. Lucie. Cultural activities include performances at the restored Lyric Theater as well as free entertainment at Stuart's waterfront boardwalk. Several nearby B&B's provide comfortable lodging with a romantic atmosphere.

Stuart Area Medical Services
There are seven general acute care facilities and four mental health / psychiatric hospitals having inpatient and outpatient programs as well as nursing homes and assisted living facilities with 24-hour skilled nursing care. Ancillary services include walk-in medical clinics, rehabilitation centers, wellness centers, diagnostic centers, home health companies, outpatient surgery centers, and birthing centers. There are also Hospice facilities available that provide care for terminally ill patients. Special regional centers povide a FDA funded Alzheimer's facility, open-heart surgery center and complete cancer centers. You will also find physicians and dentists in general and specialty practice on the Treasure Coast.
